Our team of Early Childhood Educators are committed to remaining current in their knowledge and skills of early childhood education and provide learning experiences through play that reflect the interests of your child.
The Approved Provider of the Mansfield Community Cubby House is MACE. The MACE organisation encompasses the Mansfield Community Cubby House, Mansfield Neighbourhood House and the Mansfield Adult Continuing Education Registered Training Organisation.
As MACE is a community based not for profit organisation, volunteers make up our Board of Management to govern MACE and all of its different entities.
To ensure that the Mansfield Cubby House has further focus two members of the Board of Management have formed a sub committee and meet with our Children’s Services Manager bimonthly. Families are welcome to join the subcommittee or Board of Management and should forward their expression of interest to our Children’s Services Manager.
Children’s Curriculum & Educational Program
The curriculum at the Mansfield Community Cubby House is based on the National Quality Framework and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. The curriculum includes five learning outcomes for children:
The curriculum and our educational programs encourage children to be actively involved in their own learning, to learn through experiences that are meaningful and of interest to them and to choose their own direction of play.
There is also a balance of educators intentionally teaching children about their world and scaffolding on children’s learning both in the moment and in future planning.
During the day there is a balance of active and quiet learning experiences both indoors and outdoors. There are times for individual play, small group experiences and large group experiences.
Although there is a basic routine throughout the day we keep this flexible to ensure the individual needs of all children are respected and implemented.
Team of Qualified Educators
MACE Mansfield Community Cubby House has a commitment to the employment of qualified Early Childhood Educators compliant with the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 and the National Quality Framework.
We employ trained Educators who hold one of the following qualifications:
Bachelor of Early Childhood Education
Diploma of Children’s Education and Care
Certificate III in Children’s Services
All our Educators also hold qualifications in Level 2 First Aid, Anaphylaxis Management, and Asthma Management.
No Jab No Pay Legislation
Under the No Jab No Pay legislation, from 1 January 2016, in order to be eligible for Child Care Benefit for approved and registered care, parents must ensure their children meet the immunisation requirements which now apply for all children up to the age of 19. The requirements are, that a child must be fully immunised, on a catch-up schedule or have a valid exemption in order to receive these payments.
The Australian Government provides families with two types of financial assistance to help cover the costs of approved child care – the Child Care Benefit CCB and the Child Care Rebate CCR. CCB rate is determined by the Government and is calculated on your families annual taxable income. CCR helps families cover the out-of-pocket costs of child care and it is not income tested. Even if your family income is too high for you to receive the Child Care Benefit, you may be eligible for the Child Care Rebate. It covers up to 50 per cent of out-of-pocket costs, up to $7,500 per child, per year.
